Care Guide
Everything you need to know to prepare for and care after permanent brow and lip treatments.
Before your treatment
To get the best result from your permanent brow or lip treatment, please follow these guidelines before your appointment.
2 weeks before
- No botox, fillers, laser or chemical peels around the brow area.
- Do not pluck or tint your brows — we need to see your natural brow shape for the design.
- Avoid intense sun exposure and tanning beds.
1 week before
- Stop using retinol, AHA/BHA and vitamin C products on the brow area.
- With your doctor's approval, stop aspirin and blood-thinning supplements (omega-3, vitamin E, ginkgo).
24–48 hours before
- Avoid alcohol and caffeine; they increase bleeding and make pigment retention harder.
- Avoid intense workouts.
- Simply come with make-up-free brows on the day.
Who is not suitable?
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding
- Ongoing chemotherapy / radiotherapy
- Uncontrolled diabetes, heart conditions or blood clotting disorders
- Active eczema, psoriasis, acne or wounds in the treatment area
- Use of isotretinoin (e.g. Roaccutane) within the last 6–12 months
- Tendency to keloid scarring
If you are unsure about anything, contact us before your appointment — we can assess it together in a free consultation.
After your treatment
50% of the result is in the artist's hands, the other 50% is in your aftercare. Healing takes about 4 weeks.
Day one
- For the first few hours, gently blot the fluid from your brows with the sterile wipes provided; do not rub.
- Do not get your brows wet.
First 10 days
- Apply the aftercare balm given by your artist in a very thin layer, 2–3 times a day, with clean hands.
- Keep your brows dry; avoid the brow area when washing your face.
- No make-up on the brow area.
- Avoid sauna, hammam, swimming pools, the sea and workouts that make you sweat.
- Try not to sleep face down.
- Never pick or scratch the flakes; let them fall off naturally.
Healing timeline
| Period | What to expect |
|---|---|
| Days 1–3 | Brows look darker and bolder than the final result. This is completely normal. |
| Days 4–10 | Mild itching, flaking and light scabbing begin. |
| Days 10–20 | After flaking, brows may look faded (the “ghosting” phase). |
| Week 4 | The pigment settles and the true colour appears. |
Touch-up session
The touch-up 4–6 weeks after the first session is an essential part of the process. Any strokes that did not retain are completed, and the colour and shape are perfected.
Long-term care
- Use sunscreen on your brows when out in the sun.
- Keep retinol, acids and peels away from the brow area.
- Ask for your brows to be protected during laser hair removal and IPL.
- We recommend a colour refresh every 12–18 months to keep your brows looking fresh.
